Did you know you could grow loofahs!?
Did you know loofah was a gourd??
Part of my personal health journey involves gardening, and minimizing as many toxins in my daily routine as possible. So, I tried to grow my own loofah for the first time this year!!
It grows on big vines and takes the whole summer to mature. Once the vine starts to wither and turn yellow in the fall, you harvest them and put them in a warm breezy area ro dry.
Once dried out, they turn a yellowish brown color and are super light weight.
When they reach that stage, you crack them and soak them for a few minutes then peel the skin off. Rinse well and shake out the seeds.
